Your statement made as part of your question is not accurate. It is not just past convicts who cannot buy guns. Any person made subject of a restraining order also cannot purchase a firearm.
And you're right...we have people walking the streets that we cannot trust. Why is that? Because there is no teeth in our criminal justice system. If you really want to get into it, you can thank the liberals and the democratic party. They have a belief that prison and jail is not about punishment, it is about rehabilitation. Well let me tell you that with my years of experience as a police officer dealing with constant recidivism...most of these "past criminals" are current criminals. A majority of the people we arrest have been arrested for the same or worse crimes before. Why are they walking the streets you ask? Because this country gives them repeatedly opportunities to prove they can live a normal life, but they prove us wrong every time. And what happens...they rape, rob, or murder someone else, until they do something so bad and so outrageous that even the liberal democrats have no other choice than to agree to putting them away for life.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aNEKJ
Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.
You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

Background checks can help decipher a person's intention. If you make 500 bucks a month why would you need a gun...hypothetically speaking of course.
Everyone deserves a second chance, well some cross the line but they deserve it.
We try to trust them, some criminals are watched for about 6 months if I remember right. They are on the street because we try to trust them.

The purpose of a background check gives the authorities time to identify a person who shouldn't be carrying any firearms. This is also called a "cooling period", to make certain that the applicant was not involved in any domestic violence act recently or in the past.
The background check for the most part isn't really done with criminals, its normally law abiding citizens that purchases firearms legally. Criminals know that they will never get to obtain any legal firearms by the due process involved. Therefore purchasing their firearms illegally on the streets, that is used for crime and killings..

The NRA helped pass and improve background confirm policies so what the heck are you speaking approximately? i in my opinion do now no longer help any policies infringing on my ideal to maintain and undergo hands. I thoroughly oppose waiting classes via utilising certainty they are pointless. You the two have a criminal checklist indoors the database or you do now no longer. Delaying the purchase does no longer do jack! there grew to grow to be no shrink in suicides or homicides after waiting classes have been exceeded. How could everyone help one in each and each of those stupid regulation? Gun administration is unlawful and incorrect!

The implication of your question is that you don't want criminals ever to be released. I'm glad you're not in charge of deciding how much tax we should all pay....
