I have seen several answers here on how to repair a burnt laminate countertop, but they havent quite fit my problem. 1st major problem is i live in an apartment so cutting out isnt an option. Long story short i set a very hot metal pot on the counter and now have several bubbles and brown burns. Is there anything I can do to repair it (money is a big consideration). Im not looking for perfection, just a decent patch/repair job so I dont get hit too hard when i move out. Im kicking myself pretty hard for being careless so plz plz plz no nasty comments I already know im an idiot. Thanks everyone

I work at a Joinery and we have this question come to us regularly. I'm afraid your only option is to replace it. Some benchtop companies maybe able to strip off the laminate top and relaminate the whole surface, but this is usually more expensive than it's worth.
Since laminate is one of the cheaper kitchen options, replacing the benchtop shouldn't be too expensive.
However, if you want something that's a quick fix for awhile, just put a contact based sticker over the mark. (My dad did that when he left an acid mark on our benchtop.) If you choose a nice sticker it can reallly add to the effect.

Hope that helps.

I think the only thing a person can do to fix laminate that damaged is to replace it. But I could be wrong.

If replacing it is the only option, you could approach your landlord now about making small payments with your rent so you won't get hit all at once for the damage.

Once laminate is damaged it cannot be repaired. The ONLY solution is to replace it, I'm afraid. Maybe you can confess to your landlord now. He might be able to claim repairs on his insurance. Sorry!

You could have the laminate replaced. Not the counter top, just the laminate.

attempt gently "sanding" with advantageous metallic wool (no longer the cleansing soap pad variety). you may get this at hardware shops or residing house centers. you are able to could shine the exterior after removing the marks.

if it is corian, you can sand/buff it out. If it is formica, you can get some matching paint and bondo. Cut out the bubbles and fill it in with the bondo and paint it to match.
