I have travelled to Southeast Asia and Western Europe recently for vacations, and found practically all people I encountered were very warm and welcoming. Both times I travelled I met great locals and travellers alike who seemed more interested in the USA and what life is like living there, rather than be critical of myself for being an American. Both times I was a little nervous thinking I would be hated for being American, but I did not find that to be the case. Even people from the middle east I ran into were very nice and respectful, and seemed to have no issue of me being American. With all the polls and press, saying that most of the world is Anti American I didnt see it. What are your thoughts?

I have travelled recently as well, and I was treated very well. Though people did ask me what is up with PAPA BUSH, I think they clearly understand that I do not represent HIS decisions. Now if you really want to get people's negative attention no matter what party you wish to belong to...wear a button that says I love Bush....then you will really feel the difference. I think there are people who dislike Americans because some of us voted Bush in (not me) but it is really weird. I don't ever recall Americans saying we hate Germans for Hitler, or Cubans for Castro, or Middle Easterners for Saddam. Why do we get the finger when we as individuals do not represent Bush? There will always be some people who support whatever the issue or person is and people who do not. Open minded people can see this and closed ones can not.
