I can't believe no-one has got it right yet.

Homo sapiens sapiens.

Homo sapiens lived between 400,000 and 200,000 years ago, and are our ancestors.

The proper scientific name for humans is Homo sapiens sapiens.

Homo habilis lived about 2 million years ago, and is our distant ancestor. Then came H erectus, H sapiens (co-existing for some time with H neanderthalis), and finally H sapiens sapiens.

The way we are heading with global warming and wars etc, we may well find ourselves as H habilus, living in caves again.

Hummanus beinguss, which is obviously a bland and misguided attempt to write something human-related in a vaguely Latinate manner.

There has been some controversy lately as to whether humans are real or not. Huge scientific research teams say that there is evidence that humans may have existed as recently as twenty million years ago, but no one is sure.

Joe S, Lynne and B B are the only ones who have got the answer completely right so far.

It is Homo sapiens, two words with uppercase H, lowercase s, and an s on the end even when you are talking about one of them.

The more specific name Homo sapiens sapiens is also correct.
