I think the only option for transgendered people is to transition as early as possible. Maybe at age 9 or There is no point in going through life looking like a man in a dress. It's dangerous, both financially, physically and emotionally. I say the state should take the option of transition out of the hands of the parents. Have ever child assessed and if they are found to be transgendered start them on hormones right away even without the parents consent. There are too many late transitioners out, I'm just being real, who look like and sound like freaks. I would definitely vote to pass a law that all transgendered children be allowed to start transition even without the parents consent?
What do you guys think of this law?

i think you have to be very careful with transgender children
it is true the earlier the better with hormones etc
but you have to remember children
can change there mind
and really saying to a young child you can do this
can be seen as pushing them or abuse
if they change their mind

i think 9 is a bit early for hormones
but to transition it is not

from the age or 13 / 15
a child should have a good idea and
should be given the choice to choose
plus hormones are effective then
and do quite a lot to avoid the man in dress then

i feel the parent should know
but should be NOT able to stop the person in becoming them selfs a transgender, male or female
and there should be ways to make sure it is the right choice the person is making but in that not stopping them

i wish i transitioned when i was young the fear of being outed was more then any thing and that is why so many do not do it till latter

it takes a big person (man) to admit they are really a them selfs (woman)
and of coarse that goes both ways m2f + f2m

If the child really feels strongly about it (and it is proven by a mental health professional) , I say let them live as the other gender WITHOUT medical transitioning until they are a teenager. Yes, we have to let children be themselves, but at a young age many people are still exploring their gender identity. However, your "freaks" comment is offensive. If someone transitions early on, it should be because they personally feel the need to from within, not because they are scared of looking like a "freak".
