No, she was trying to imitate Marilyn Monroe. She wasn't as bright and an imitation of someone else isn't exactly an original or authentic life to lead.

But I am sorry she died.

No, because Marilyn was a talented actress, whereas Anna Nicole Smith seems to have been famous for being famous - oh, yes, and marrying a geriatric billionaire. Shame that all that money didn't bring her and her loved ones happiness - I'm sure her baby daughter would rather have her Mummy than all the money in the world.

Both Anna Nicole Smith and Marilyn Monroe were victims of the men in their life and the search for love cost them their (short) lives.

not quite, but there are similarities:

1. not so great childhood
2. dropped out of high school
3. both changed their names (norma jean baker/mortenson to marilyn monroe; vicky lynn hogan to anna nicole smith)
4. obviously, both were blonde
5.they both were desperate to feel loved
6. both appeared in playboy
7.both had controversial marriages
8. both had money problems. many people do not know, but marilyn monroe did have some money problems. she was getting paid a lot less than other actresses, jane russell for example, who she starred in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" with. But i'm sure many people think/thought that she was rich. Many people thought Anna Nicole had millions, but now more people now that she had actually filed for bankruptcy before and was battling for the inheritance from her late husband.
9.both had drug/alcohol problems
10. both died young (marilyn-36; anna nicole-39)
11. mysterious/intriguing deaths

and my personal opinion: marilyn monroe's fame was declining before she died, but after she died....well the rest is history. she is probably Hollywood's most recognized face. and it can already be seen that anna nicole is getting much much more media attention and being talked about by people who have never heard of her, now that she is dead. But i don't think she will ever be as famous as Marilyn.

lol - it sounds as though u too have read the story about this on Inside Yahoo! i've just read it, and it asked the same question, ie, whether or not her life imitated that of Marilyn Monroe..... i think that's how she would like to be remembered - as another icon like Marylin, but the sad fact is that she was and always will be a cheap imitation of the real thing. i'm sorry she died though - she had kids, it's them i feel sorry for the most.

I would not say imitate as much as I would say that Smith emulated Monroe. Partially in awe or some fanatical obsession with character that cannot be bought.
In some ways there are similarities, yes, but it was a conscious action of Smith and her 'handlers' that she used to further her otherwise sad excuse of an entertainment career.

Nope. Marilyn was a talented actress and a great natural beauty who couldn't cope with the demands of her fame.

Anna Nicole Smith with a Playboy model who had a strange life and a sad death.

Just because they were both blonde, I don't see where the other links are.

Im not sure her life imitated Marilyn Monroe but her death certainly did.
Another tragic tale. It's sad.

I would say it did imitate it in the aspect of them both being beautiful, troubled blondes. I think Anna Nicoles story is worse, because her son died, and now her daughter is without her mother.

Not really. Marilyn Monroe acted in movies. The similarity is that drugs killed them both.
