Do you know where the Virus is found? If its in a folder called "System Volume Information\..." then turn off the System recovery.
Right click on "My Computer" and choose "Settings". Click the "Systemrestore" Tab. Check to deactivate System restore. Reboot your PC.

Then scan your PC again with the free "AntiVir" virus scanner.

Before installing AntiVir, uninstall all Virus scanners you have currently running. Running two or more virus scanners at one time will lead to problems.

Then scan your PC for viruses again. If the Virus is still there, boot into Safe mode and scan again.

If this also fails, ask a friend with a Virus scanner to scan your Harddisk. Open your PC and take out your Harddisk carefully (if you don't know how to do this, ask someone who does, as you can damage a lot).

Your Friend should then scan the Disk and delete the Virus without problems.

If you don't have a friend that is able to do this, make yourself a BartPE recovery CD on a *virus free* PC (this is important! You need a clean system!).
Install an Anti Virus Plugin for this CD and burn it.

A BartPE CD is some sort of "Mini-Windows" that will run off a CD alone. And since the CD is Virus free, and can't be written on by viruses, it's the ideal tool to recover an infested PC.

However you must create the disc on a clean PC!

1) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

If the above steps do not remove the hijack then you would need to
(2) Download hijackthis
(3) Post the hijackthis log on the hijackthis forum for the hijackthis experts to take a look

Spybot can't remove it while its running, so start in safe mode and scan from there.
You may need to switch off System Restore as back up files may be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.

Hi,as this is a trojan,it is most unlikely you will be able to remove it with anti virus.
Most spyware/malware removal tools will fail also.
use a good brute force uninstaller such a s this.

Download to your desktop, reboot into safe mode and run the application. just follow the instructions and remember that at points it looks like its not doing much but leave alone until you are prompted ok.
Have fun.

Go to AVG and download their free anti virus programme. Run it and it will diagnose the probelm and remove the virus or quarantine it.

It looks like this trojan has injected itself into vital processes and is lodged in memory.
I'd recommend a scan with Trojan Hunter - it's not free so you will have to pay up in order to remove any infection

alternative (free) trojan scanners include Spyware Terminator

which can remove files on boot
