Of course it isn't going to happen, but what if it did?

normannbormann - You're wrong. It isn't about race at all. It's about the fact that I personally believe these are two people that I could get behind and they both just happen to be black. I'm as white as white comes, you, however, are apparently the racist here.

If the Dems win 2008, I think that Powell and Rice would have a great shot in 2012 or 2016. They need some time to prove their abilities in budgeting and legislation (maybe as governors or reps in congress), then to come back and run. If they were to do it in '08, I think that it would be too early, they wouldn't be able to pull enough support, and it would hurt their public image.
One thing is for sure, I would vote for them. The person who said that they are evil and corrupt is just ignorant. I'm not saying that they're saints, but you can't say a person is evil based solely on his or her public political views. Let's be realistic here.

That's a rather racist question, don't you think? Your only possible motive for pairing them is because they are both black, as if that fact would have any bearing on their ability to run the country.
Whats the difference between voting against a candidate because of their race, gender, or religion and voting FOR a candidate because of their race, gender, or religion? Not much. Bigotry is bigotry, no matter how you slice it.
As for their qualifications, neither of them have any experience governing. Powell has military experience and both of them have diplomatic experience, but America's biggest problems are right here at home and neither of them have any experience with budgets or working with Congress.
Regardless of race or gender, there are much better qualified applicants out there.

Honestly, I don't believe the country is ready to have a ticket that is either all black or all female. Kind of a sad commentary. I don't share the belief of many conservatives who believe Condi Rice can become President. Colin, on the other hand, would have a legitimate chance, though I believe he's a less attractive candidate than he was prior to him serving in Bush's cabinet. I think he would have been our first black President had he run in 2000.

If it was Powell-Rice, yes. They would be very hard to beat. I wouldn't see it though since Rice was the one that replaced Powell after he was fired By Bush as Secretary of State. They are very much opposed in their views of Iraq. He is more moderate than she is when it comes to social issues. But because of Colin Powell's strengths he could win with a dog as a vice-presidential running mate.

Condoleeza's link with Junior's government and the fact that she was one of the advisors of Junior when he decided to go to war in Iraq might tarnish and reduce their chances of winning. However, Colin Powell could definately be a good Presidential candidate.

i'd not vote for any fee ticket with Rice on it. Colin Powell gained't run, and if he did I doubt he ought to have Rice on the fee ticket. I doubt he ought to even wan to be interior a similar room with her.

No, Colin Powel is an honorble man but Condi Rice is a corrupt and evil person. She would follow the same failed policys of the corrupt and criminal Bush administration and America cannot afford that anymore. We need to get our budget under control and to take corruption out of politics.

Condosleeza Rice and Colin Bowel....
Bowel lost his air (oops) when he mucked up his reports on Iraq and played everything down. Now your sons and daughters die because he gave forth lies that were acted upon. Bring on the hidden weapons boys!
How terrifying for you all to even contemplate this as a joke!
Hmmm Condosleeza vs Billary for the Presidency.. now THAT would be fun to watch but hell to live with!

I'd vote for Collin Powell, but Condi wouldn't be a good running partner. I'm not sure if these two would get along.
Personally, I like what Barak Obama is sounding like. We need someone to bring the country together and just be Americans again.

Unfortunately...no. The country is too racist yet, I think. CR needs more experience and I would trust Powell. I was so sad when he left. He was better at it then Rummy.
