I installed a self cleaning, hotwater tank about 4 months ago and now the water that is coming out has a yellow-green, (almost as if the water had been pee'd in) tint to it. Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem would be appreciated.

Your question begs more information, but here it goes. First, research the location you purchased the self-cleaning water heater and ask the same question. Also, look online for the manufacturer and contact them as well. Self-cleaning water heater is an interesting concept. Why does it need to be cleaned? If there is some chemical included in the tank, that may be a possible reason, but unlikely. Does your other water outlets have the same color. My thoughts are the chemicals in the water from the water treatment plant may have changed and since the hot water is sitting for hours, something is tinting it. Check you hot water from other fausets in the house. Use a clear glass container and look at it. If it is also colored, then the tank or water supply is the issue. If the water is clear, then perhaps it is something in your tub reacting to the hot water. Have you changed cleaning chemicals for your tube? When there is a change in your environment, look for something that has changed and/ or worn out. Hope that helps.
