if so, what did they do, and what do you think could have been the reason for them being mean

I have no idea why. They were mad about something else and I was available to dump it on I guess. I do the same thing to others at times. So do you. We're all in this together ;)

Yes it happens to everyone. If people deny it, then they're lying or living in denial.
Let me think of an example... Aw yes, I used to work with a 250+ lb woman, who was a total biatch. For some reason she hated other women, and once had the nerve to critique my body aloud when she told me I was too scrawny. Yeah... obviously she had issues, and once I even heard a rumor that her husband was abusive. It wasn't worth getting into it with her, because she was just so sad and mean. I actually felt for her. She just seemed like someone who was in a lot of pain. Sure, she annoyed me and angered me on many occasions but I always felt bad about it and just let it go. Hmm...

Oh yes.
I don't remember exactly what they did but I am sure that it has happened. What did I think? I thought: I did nothing wrong. That person has issues.
Oh and I have to agree with your earlier Answerer. People on here have reported me for nothing. I mean... I never give mean or rude answers yet I was docked points. That's downright mean! (And that person who reported me must have had issues!).

Oh that happens to me all the time, and I simply get made fun of or people yell at me...I'm not sure why people are mean in any case, so I just try to keep on going and being myself. That's really all I can do. I answer to God anyway, in the end...

yes and there is no other answer for that kind of behavior but jealousy and their own insecurity ...so hi skool....like spreading rumors when they havent even spoken to you just based on your looks etc... and to not outgrow acting like that im sure leaves them sad and alone and bitter in the end and thats what you have to tell yourself and let it go

yes,as a kid i was beaten and humiliated in front of other kids in boarding school,also i was teased due to my accent,with some people its in their genes until they either get rid of it or a dose thier own medicine
