It's my friend's 40th birthday on sunday and I'm stuck for what to buy her, that she hasn't already got! Am looking for something unique (not jewellery), around the £20 - 30 mark. Any suggestions?

How about a massage voucher and buy wee chill out things such as candles etc....so she can relax. For more a personal touch and doesnt really cost much except time make a cd up of the last 40 number 1s as ahe was grown up this is different or make a cd of every song that means something to her or both of you.

I had the same problem with my mum for one of her "big" birthdays, what to get for the woman who has everything. In the end I took her clay pigeon shooting for the afternoon and it went down a treat, she absoloutly loved it. Why not try arranging an activity that just the two of you could share (clay pigeon, massage, manicure, go karting etc.) then you get to share in the fun and you have something to talk about for ever. Also a nice touch is to take some pictures during the day and to create an album or photo frame with them in to remeber the experience by.

Check out lastminute.com They have great personalized gifts at good prices. I have bought personalized choccy cards and champagne. both with very quick delivery. Have a look and if you run out of time you can order something and print out a gift voucher.... easy! Why not adopt an animal for her. Monkeyworld do great adoptions for £30 and she will get a certificate, free entry to the park for a year and a lovely pic of the monkey she has adopted.

Something in the line of decor for her house. A vase, wine glasses if shes a wine drinker, porcelain tea set or a cd with her fave oldies. if all else fails get her a handbag or purse.

You need to look for something that can be personalised with Name and DOB perhaps. A nice crystal wine glass maybe. Or a silver trophy looking thing that can be engraved.

I suggest you buy her a little red wagon. You know, the kind that you ride down the other side of the hill? ;-)
