Layne Stayley is the better singer. And he was sexier too.

I think Eddie is by far a better singer and song writer than Stayley, with the exception of the last PJ album. That last PJ album was terrible.

although i love layne stayley, i would have to go with eddie vedder. when he sang "hide your love away" on the i am sam soundtrack, that was the best beatles cover i have heard, and i have heard a lot of them.

Got to say Layne Staley. One of my favorites, although Eddie Vedder is great too. Of course that's just personal preference, I really couldn't say who is superior technically..

eddie vedder by far. alice in chains was good, but eddie has the voice, its completely original. and he shows so much emotion when he sings, it shows that the music really means something. with his voice he could ask me to do anything....

Vedder. Better lyrics too. Alice in Chains seems like they're lamenting something they don't even understand sometimes.
