Agree, its disgraceful, I feel sorry for the moms and dads who have to find someone kind enough to look after their kids for the day or take the day off themselves and lose much needed money, the kids are missing out on enough of their education today with the way schools are run, having to have all these extra days off because of a inch of snow if pathetic, parents should be able to sue or fine the school for everyday their kids get sent home, just like they do if they take their kids out of school to go on holiday, god help them if they get six inch of snow is all I can say.

Don't know about you, but there was about a foot and a half of snow dropped in my neighborhood in a very short period of time.

Yes, why the hell haven't we learned how to control the weather by now? God forbid we send our children to school for 179 days instead of 180.

I blame Tony Blair. If we had a Tory government we wouldn't be getting this kind of snow. In fact it is turning into slush as I speak. If we didn't have all these immigants coming into are country and buying copies of The Sun, stopping us from reading about all the immigants coming in and buying copies of the sun we would have a brighter day.
The schools only close because of the politically correct intelligentsia. I bet if the snow hadn't have white they would have stayed open. But as usual anything that is white is bad.

I can't tell you how great it was to have had occasional days off from school to enjoy or play in the snow. I think you're being a little rigid.

I hardly think kids suffer trauma behind enjoying a few days of snow here and there. It never kept me from getting a well-rounded education.

Also, it forces a lot of parents to do something highly unusual: Spend quality time with there kids. ... Please lighten up.

Tell me about it.
My partner works 200yrds from our boys school, I've dropped her to work this morning and the schools closed, it's not because of the roads because they're reasonably clear this morning.
I've had to take a day off work and lose pay but i bet the lazy teachers still get paid.

Its because so many people have to travel miles to their workplaces instead of living nearby them like in the old days.
