What are the disadvantages of being too attractive?

hurmm Leonardo DiCaprio said he hated being too attractive. He said it's hard for him to get recognised for his acting ability. In real life, is it a disadvantage for being too attractive and noit get recognised for ur other qualities? If u r born having good looks how do u carry urself around ppl?

Let's face it - we live in a social world. And despite the adage "you can't judge a book by it's cover", people do it all the time. How they react may have nothing to do with you, other than your appearance. So I know what DiCaprio is talking about, though its effects can be observed for almost any appearance, not JUST being to attractive.

If you think about stereotypical behaviour around attractive people (watch a 'Minerva Mink' cartoon, if you want good stereotypical examples) you get people who are either falling over themselves to try and impress you or people who are envious and work against you for no better reason. So a pretty person can end up in the same position as a rich person - it can be hard to tell sometimes if someone likes you because of YOU, or just because you're pretty. Which can be depressing, at best.

Way back when I was in high school, I knew a girl who was thought to be one of the most attractive ones in school. Those who were envious would often accuse her of being a whore simply because she was attractive. And ironically she actually pretty much never got asked out on dates because almost all the guys thought she was completely out of their league. She was lonely a lot of the time.

Of course, there are plenty of pretty people who are more than happy to capitalize on their looks, and couldn't care less why people do things for them, just so long as they do. I don't think DiCaprio was complaining when he was a nobody and his looks got him noticed in the first place. Still, I can sympathize. Now he has to wonder if he could have made it on skill alone. He will likely never know the answer to that question.

Disadvantages

1, Person doesn't grow intellectually and emotionally.
Too Attractive person gets all the care, love and attention without any effort to improve himself or herself on intellectual, emotional and personal level.

Not only in expression but in their development primarily. Feels little to do to achieve

A person who is extremely attractive is also extremely confident, mostly referred to "Show-Off"

An attractive guy will act as if he doesn't need attention while he certainly does, but because he's so attractive and knows he's eye catching, he simply relaxes and allows his appearance to do the hard work for him... This attractive person may not always have a successful relationship, but it doesn't really matter, as long as he's attracting those girls.

To be honest with you: I rather to be extremely attractive than to be hideous and genuine, because 70% of females put attraction first, while just 30% put inner beauty first...

Disadvantage is only when the pride of being attractive gets to ur head....n out from ur mouth.....so till the time ur down to earth n real...nothing really can coz harm to u...u wud only get lotta eyes set on u and admiring/enving u exterior n inner beauty ....good luck ...charmer :)

Obviosly he has a big head hes alright and that depends what people find attractive. I am always called beautiful by young and older guys and women my friends always call me hot. I thank them but at the same time I TELL THEM ALL GODS CHILDREN ARE BEAUTIFUL. I was never conceited I believe that theres always beautifuller and make it a point to say that. If you have to tell anyone you are than your trying to convince them you are.lol

I think that if someone believes they are too attractive then they have serious issues. People who are so focused on their looks don't seem to focus on things that really matter. I think that self esteem makes you carry yourself well and you can have high self esteem whether you are attractive or not and vice versa... and Leonardo DiCaprio is definitely not too attractive he is a wuss

As a rather attractive woman I would say the primary issue I have is people thinking that I have no brain. They think that just because you're a pretty face you have no intellectual capacity to do anything but sit and look pretty. I also found that guys would say dumb things like" someone like you would go for someone like me" And be paranoid that I want someone "sexier". It makes females insecure to befriend you incase their guy falls for you.So that left me with no choice but resort to dating online where I met my soul mate who married me because Im a great person inside because thats all that matters. People shouldnt judge.

disadvantages of too attractive is one when you get older the looks fade hope you have inner beauty i know beauty foxs who are alone when the nite is thru so if your beautiful do some house cleaning what you going to do when time catchs up to you
