Ok, stepping in here to be the voice of the OPPOSITE opinion. Contrary to what everyone has said, not ALL McDonalds have baby changing stations. And given the choice, I refuse to take my son into the bathroom and lay him on the floor. Sometimes we have to do what we have to do. And just as another point, my husband and I have been to many restaurants (we're not talking fast food here either) that did not have ANY facilities to assist with changing an infant; the bathroom didn't even have a counter! So again, I did what I had to do. It's not like we made a big deal out of it, we tried to be as discreet as possible AND we always carry a roll of small baggies with us (the same baggies you can buy to pick up after your dogs) so that we can dispose of the dirty diaper later. We don't leave it on the table or throw it away in the garbage in the restaurant. We try to be considerate of everyone's feelings, however, my son's happiness (and clean dry bum) are what's most important to me.

Not very appetizing to others... I would have at least gone into the bathroom. I always keep a blanket in the diaper bag so I can at least lay her down somewhere even if there's no changing table in the restroom. Other option is doing it in the car. I don't think you are over-reacting, but giving her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she just couldn't think of anything else to do at the time. Sometimes, people are so worried about doing things so they are acceptable to others, that they may not consider all options before doing what needs to be done.

I can understand that a mom with other kids too small to be left unattended may have no choice but to change the baby at her table. It's a bad choice and very inconsiderate of other people.
Most restaurants--including Mickey D's, I believe--do have baby changing stations in the rest rooms. These are now available even in the men's rooms, so Daddy can change the baby as well.
I don't think you are overreacting. She had better choices. She chose not to take them.

They have changing tables in 90% of restuarants. There is no need for them to be changing a baby in a booth. It's just laziness. I also think if you're child is screaming and carrying on, you should take them out to the car. If a restaurant does not have a changing table, take them out to your car--stink up your car. That's what I did with my two kids.

u r correct it is very unsanitary and rude of them.
how about this one, at my job a woman thought it was acceptable to change her autistic 11 year old son's diaper in the waiting room. than threw it away in the waiting rooms trash bin. why would people want to smell her big boys urine all day. we have changing rooms that would accomodate older kids. when we told the mother we have rooms for that she got offended and said she don't care.

NASTY!
My hubby thinks I am a little neurotic about wiping common objects that my son may touch with sanitizing wipes (high chairs/shopping carts/public tables) and/or covering them up, but this is why! People are so selfish/lazy/ignorant - feces contains tons of highly contagious organisms! However, if you don't care about your own child's health or privacy, I know you don't give a crap about what you leave behind for my son to encounter (pun intended)!

You are NOT overreacting. That is disgusting, not to mention unsanitary. I wouldn't dream od changing my daughter like that. There are always other options. I've been places with no baby changing station in the restroom....I change her in the back seat of my truck. No one needs to see/smell that while they are eating.
