I have mine so that it faces me as I open the door; makes me feel a little better about leaving the house.

My home is my sanctuary away from the world. Therefore I refuse to have a "welcome" mat. When I'm at home I want to be left alone. Having a welcome mat would be like telling a lie. :)

Not really. I'd rather have a mat that says "go away" or "bugger off".

No, that's why I got rid of it.

Actually, my doormat has a government logo and says "No One Here by That Name, US Federal Relocation Service"
