This is what it has always been.
I used to feel like you, but one day I realized that if I wanted the world to be a better place I needed to work toward that goal, and having children that I could raise to help fight for goodness and carry the ideas forward, was the biggest contribution I could make to bettering things. I have never been sorry that I chose to have them.
Try to relax about the world situation in general. Life is a risky venture, but this is also what makes it so precious and so much fun! Try to understand that the only thing that is absolute in life is death. Everything else is changeable. Once you see that death is the most solid part of life you can begin to stop fearing it, not wasting any more time on the fear, and putting your energy and awareness into living the life you have right now. You can't do anything about one, and you can do a while lot with the other.
Maybe it would help to read some historic novels, or simply study some history. As you learn details of what went before, you find many things to celebrate and also learn to stop sweating the small stuff.
You sound young. Just live awhile and let life infect you! And stop watching the news. It is made to be scary because that sells products.

In 1962 the world was on a brink of a nuclear war between USA and USSR because of the Cuban missile crisis. It really nearly happened. Ever since then all world conflicts have been relatively local and relatively minor. That is almost half a century of relatively mild conflict.
The terrorist "myth" is aimed at focusing on "evil" Arabs, whilst the west almost steals oil from the Middle East.
Greed hate and money have always been minor problems.
The media to some degree is very destructive and traitorous.
But the only thing that you mention that we REALLY need to worry about is global-warming and its knock-on effects.
It is interesting that you talk about bringing innocent children into the world. We were all that once. Would you deny your own existence because of the hype and manipulation that exists today in the real world?
Your children will not be wedged up chimneys or die in pits and factories.
Life will always be hard, that is the human way.
But in global terms things are getting better.
So cheer-up!

The only thing on your list that is relatively new to humanity is global warming, yet we have created many beautiful things in spite of the apparent societal hell we find ourselves in the midst of.
War sucks, it always has. Anything and everything truly terrible can be justified by some, that doesn't make it right.
Death, come on now, if you fear bringing a child into the world because there is death here than I would have to say that is just plain silly. If I had to spend eternity here, when there are so many spectacular things in this universe alone that I cannot even begin to comprehend with my limited perception, that would be truly terrible. Death is wonderful, and so is Life.
Destruction is a natural part of life. Out of destruction wonderful things are born.
Terrorists, I will live such a short existence on this planet that I will not waste it living in fear of these people. We cannot just kill all the terrorists before they get us. That is just asinine. Although I must question what drives them to do what they do. Pretending that they are not there is not the answer, neither is living in fear of them. I must admit, sociological and psychological making of terrorists is not my forte so I just will have to stop here on this subject.
Global warming is something that needs everyone's attention. When humans focus on something together amazing things happen. What can you do personally to lower your carbon emissions? Can you help someone else lower theirs?
Media Frenzy, huh? You would deprive yourself of the joy of parenthood because the of the media. I don't get it, sorry.
Money, or lack of it. Life here is tough no question about it. It ALWAYS has been. If you resent money, it will always be just out of your reach. We all make our decisions on how we want the world to be every day, by how we spend that dollar. Think before you buy it feels kind of good and it DOES make a difference. Many people do not really comprehend how much power they hold in their wallets.
Greed has its opposite and there is plenty of it going around. Even in the heart of everyday people you have some of both going on. Fill the greedy parts of yourself with generosity and the world may appear to change. If it doesn't than at least you will know you are doing your best to make it more livable for the people you love.
Hate also has its opposite and Love is the most wonderful feeling in the universe (as for as I know). Thank god we have such a body that we can FEEL such a variety of emotions. With as much hate as there is in this world, when the s_#@ hits the fan humans find out that they really do care for their fellow man. That has been my observation in this life. It always makes me cry and it hurts so good.
People can be real bastards sometimes, but hey, they can be pretty f-^#@! amazing too.
Children are innocent, but do not be fooled, they are anything but poor.
There is more light in this world than you realize, some of it is veiled at the moment, and some of it right there for you to bask in if you just turn your chin a little bit upwards toward the sun.

The troubles of the word have gone on from time immemorial. The world is a beautiful planet it's the inhabitants that mess it up.We now hear of these horrors more frequently as we have an efficient world wide communications system----they seem closer to us now than they ever did.You feel helpless in the face of all this evil and all I can suggest is to start close to home and make your environment as peaceful and caring as you can .I truly think the world is better than it was when I was a child-----misery and evil sells news papers and makes sensational T.V.Dwell on the good in life it will spread like ripples on the water.Be positive you could have fine children who make a real difference in he word. This feeling is natural and I felt the same when I was younger. We cannot give up on our beautiful planet and must all do our small thing to make it better.

I think we should be more kind to earth. Earth is like our body, and cities are like cells. The way cities are being developed nowadays are liken to cancer cells eating up our bodies. Everyday new cities are popped up, and these eats into the resources around the world. Becuase of this, people, countries, companies fight for resources.
Only if we can find a good way to cure cancer cells....

Yes, it's a shitehole, but there's very little we can do about it on a big scale - so do the best you can and try to have a laugh... the alternative doesn't bare thinking about.
As for kids - who'd want them anyway?
