A new set usually runs around $600, more if you want the HE brands, you may fine a set close to $500. If $money is a issue. Just go and purchase a used set for around $200-$300, stick with Whirlpool, Kenmore or Maytags. Those are more reliable brands.

Used ones will run you about $100 - $200 dollars each...A tip from me: Estate sales are the best places to shop for used large appliances followed by auctions, yard sales, and newspaper want ads. Try Kaboo.com...
Decent new ones (like the ones I just bought) will cost between $300 - $500 each depending on model and place of purchase...I got mine at Sears because they deliver cheap...
Better models can cost you around $800 to $1200 dollars each but you get all the nifty gadgets and stuff (I didn't really need all that...I don't do that much laundry! LOL).

You can get decent ones for less than $500 each, or spend considerably more for more features and better efficiency. If you are really on a budget, get used ones.
