Yes we are becoming a Nazi Germany. They won't worry about losing billions in cigarette sales, they'll be generating more revenue in fines, jailtime and jacking the prices of smokes. Don't worry, they're not stopping there. They're trying to ban listening to Ipods when you're on the sidewalk. Apparently there's a problem not being able to walk and listen at the same time.
But going back to the Nazi Germany statement. There are concentration camps being built right now. To the best of my knowledge there are over 600 being built around the US as we speak. They're called residental detention centers(how considerate) to house illegal immigrants and US residents. Remember, thanks to the Patriot Act 1 & 2 anyone who commits a crime is technically a terrorist. **** like this is continuing to grow, but since the media and government continue to put us into a state of fear from supposed terrorists, the people will continue to believe that what they're doing is ok by us. They're so wrong.
People need to wake up and realize that they're aiming for a one world government, mass population control, 80% population reduction, and we're all implanted w/ chips in order to go about our "normal" lives. So we're not heading to a Nazi Germany. What we're heading for makes Nazi Germany seem like after school detention.

I believe Talking on phones via ear piece is fine. Your hands are free. Putting on makeup (and if you live in california it's not only females thank you) while driving, eating while driving etc are already traffic violations in many states. Smoking does not usually pose any issues while driving. It raises a large debate I am a smoker and i feel as long as you don't have small children in the vehicle is should not be a problem. Your eyes are on the road at all times. I do see that our country is slowly taking away many of our rights. A city near me has banned smoking all together! if your caught smoking in public you get fined. It's only a matter of time before it's something else!

I think going from banning people from talking on phones, etc while driving to Nazi Germany is a bit of a stretch. The fact is, people are trying to do too much in their cars instead of concentrating on driving. States have a responsibility to make laws that protect the general well being of the citizens.
Nazi Germany? Not quite. And in the future, try to remember what really did happen in Nazi Germany. It's disrespectful to compare someone trying to ban you from being an idiot and trying to eat a taco in your car to the mass murder of millions of people. How about some perspective.

precisely. Ridiculous ban. the scholars that were sickened admitted to including vodka to their 4 LOKOS. i have been observing the community information in this and that all of them look so stupidly gleeful about this absurd ban. The Governor has even compared those beverages to Joe Camels attraction with youngster ager's. The question they should be asking is the position the Phrock did those less than age youngsters get the beverages contained in the first position. we've allot of hypocrisy in politics the following in WA! upload: i have been paying for out the community 7-11 each and every time they restock. Infact i'm on my way now to QFC, Safeway and Costco. i'd be wealthy promoting it on the black market. I confirm i will have the basement finished before the ban is going into result next week.

I didn't read the story... And since I don't smoke, it doesn't matter to me. Do you think they'll come up with a test for if you're driving while too tired? How many people fall asleep at the wheel and cause accidents?
Smoking in your car shouldn't be illegal... with kids in the car, yes. With non smoking passengers, it's just being an ******.
When someone tells you you can't smoke because of your race or religion, then you can compare us to Germany.

I do think common sense should be used while driving. It is the matter of fact of one knowing what they are capable of doing while driving. Another thing, I also hate being told what I can do within my own property. It does induce a feeling of repression. How long before we can't do something in our own homes? Besides, these accidents are supposed to be insured. Not saying I want them to happen. Yea, there are some stupid people out there too, but Smoking had kept me and many others I know awake while driving, calmed the anxieties of driving, and saved time for pulling over.
the dressing in your car is dangerous...more dangerous than smoking or eating.
Cell phones are dangerous if you cannot operate the gadgets in your car properly, or if you have a mental concentration problem.
everyonw needs to find their capabilities

Finally, they're trying to do something about the women driving and putting on their makeup, reading while driving, people who are too uncoordinated to drive and talk on the phone, and all the other stupid stuff people do in a car. I saw a woman driving and changing clothes once - she was driving okay but I about ran off the road. It's a good idea to limit what can be done while driving.

The government is being so hypocritcal in these smoking bans. They do not want everyone to quit smoking--this would cost them hundreds of billions in tax dollars!! The taxes we pay to smoke have risen more than the taxes on anything else--we are paying for our own medical care when the time comes that we need it.
Now there is no smoking in bars--ridiculous
Some places, no smoking in public--this is outdoors we're talking about
Someone wrote today that there is no longer smoking in hotel rooms in LAS VEGAS!!--WTF??--They still sell cigarettes in those hotels!
And, a women who lives in Tempe, AZ says they are trying to stop people from smoking anywhere in city limits--including your own car--outrageous!
Most of us smokers know what risks we are taking--and that we may be cutting years off our lives by smoking. Many of us have tried to quit--but failed. It is not up to the government to tell us what we can put into our own bodies! As I already mentioned, we pay so much in taxes that we are really paying for any necessary medical treatment we may come to need.
