A tropical depression is a weather disturbance also called a baby storm/typhoon.

Its maximum winds at the center is only 55 Kilometers per hour.

Between 60 - 120 Kilometers per hour it is called a storm
Between 120 - 185 Kilometers per hour is is called a typhoon
Over 185 Kilometers per hour it is already a Super Typhoon.

It is a storm that has formed in a tropical area. These are generally the beginnings of hurricanes. The storm is usually well organized and has a discern able rotation to it, although not as organized as a hurricane is.
