I can understand some of the things that go on the show can happen but doesn't it seem odd that almost all they do is have problems? Is life really that bad in Canada? Or is it for real?

I love that show!! I think its realistic I mean it is tv so they gotta have a lot of drama

The show is about as dramatic as my life. Degrassi has a HUGE cast and all the drama is happening to everyone. To me, that's real life. It would be less realistic if nothing was happening to the characters or if there were only 2 or 3 characters that drama was happening too. But with the cast Degrassi has and trying to relate it to real life I think a good majority of the problems are realistic. I know A LOT of people who have gone through many of the problems Degrassi deals with.

I love that show so much and it is a very addictive show that's why I now own season 5 on dvd lol, but it could also be, because JT (Ryan Cooley) is really nice to look at! And yes I am a teen, 16 to be exact. I believe that Degarssi does touch on real life problems, maybe they aren't as dramatic, but they still are similar. In my school I can name a person that has or is going through each of these things, we also had a gun scare this year with a threat to kill a teacher and other student. I personally am not big on all of this drama so I stay away, but yes to answer your question Degrassi is very accurate and I think that's what makes teens and even adults love it so much, because they can look at it and say wow I'm going through the same thing! i looooove degrassi. but you're right....it really isnt that realistic. but at the same time everything that happens on that show could happen in real life...i think they just make it more dramatic. plus if they didnt have any problems on the show.. it wouldnt really be that interesting to watch.. it would just be a bunch of high school kids in canada. lol

i use to love the show and thought it was very realistic....well over 10 years ago!! now days its probably all about ratings
