I have pay stubs and checks with my out of state address on it, but my car is still registered in Michigan. I am just visiting. I was given a fix-it ticket, I would think they would void it at the court house. Does anyone know if I'm going to be in luck?

Just fix the damned windows!

You don't need tint, it's not like Michigan has unbearable sun beating down.

As a resident of Michigan, I can truly state, that you will have to fix the problem-namely the tint on your windows. If you prove to the law enforcement agency and the court in the county where the ticket was issued that the problem was fixed, then there in no need to pay the fine. However, there is a time period to comply with the demands on the ticket. If the deadline passes and nothing was done, then you could be held in contempt, and subject to a bench warrant, and other legal issues, which would cost more than the actual ticket was worth. the vehicle is licensed and registered in Michigan, and falls under Michigan laws and regulations regarding window tint. Even if you reside out of state and are employed out of state, the law still applies as it is a vehicle registered in Michigan. So loose the tint, better to lose the tint, then end up with more headaches then you already have. Sorry-since the vehicle was registered in Michigan, ignorance of the law is no defense.

No. Even if the vehicle was registered elsewhere, while driving in Michigan, you have to comply with all their rules and regs. If you don't 'fix-it' you pay the ticket.

You'd better just pay the fine. If they stopped you, the tint is way too dark and not allowed in this state. If you don't change it, and they stop you again...it will be even more frustrating for you.
