they chew with their mouth open and sip on hot drinks with noise and it just makes me angry because they don't accept that it's not normal to eat like that... so my question is: is it normal to eat like that? if it is how do i get over the whole thing? and if it isn't what do i do about it? because it's really wasting a lot of my time, energy and concentration...

its not abnormal. its just different from what your custom is. in some countries, people eat snails and blood, and though its disgusting to many, people don't consider it abnormal. in some countries, eating fried chicken with your fingers would be uncouth, but its okay in America, and we shouldn't judge americans by that. no matter how crude they seem to you, the more important question is how do they treat you? are they kind, caring, thoughtful, helpful people.

best thing always is to talk to them about your problem in a nice way, but be clear about your argument so they understand where you're coming from.

No that is not normal! That is generally a sign of poor manners! I was brought up not to chew with my mouth open or make any sounds while eating actually. My Mother used to be able to hear a friend who ate like that from like a mile away I swear! I would know if she was going to complain about that with a friend way ahead of time! he he Anyway, you can just make a point of making a point of good eating habits! Make comments about people you know who eat badly etc.. Maybe they will catch on, if not.... At that point it may take a more direct approach... Just slap the crap out of them and tell them they need to learn some manners. LOL GOOD LUCK!

No its not normal, its very bad manners and would be very embarassing for you when inviting anyone to dine with you and they are also at the table. Avoid this if possible. My father-in-law used to slurp the slops out of the saucer when he finished his cup of tea, talk with food in his mouth, its not nice for anyone sitting with these people. You cant change the situation - only they can do that if they really care but they probably dont. Put your energy into improving the situation for yourself and enjoy dining with other people who have more manners. Your family are set in their ways by now, they obviously were not taught table manners themselves when young, at least you have some.

Thats funny.. Try to ignore it. Believe it or not what your talking about is a compliment in some contries. It's More normal than not. We all have our little pet peves. If you can't beat them join them
Example. I used to jog as often as I could. When I got home all my in law's or step family would be sitting around me smoking ciggs. I complained that my lungs were clean and I don't like the idea of them smoking around my old father because he does it also. He even laughed. Everyone on my side of the family continually tried to get him to stop. SOOOOO I grabbed a cigerett and started smoking it with them. My father kept saying BJ please don't smoke. I quicklly exsplained the if you can't beat em. He stopped then and there. He saved me to save himself.
MAYBE if you do what bothers you they'll see it differentlly

The only person you can change is you.Exercise your patience, try not to be so petty.Believe it or not you probably do things that get on other peoples nerves. We all just need to love each other. My mom eats like that and swallows really loud,it used to bother me ,you just get used to it.It's not worth hurting someones feelings.Nobody's perfect.

Everybody has problems in one way or the other.
The best thing would be to not pay any attention to it.
If you can't, you might want to politely ask if they eat without making noise. Either that or eat your meal elsewhere.

Refuse to eat with them and dont cook for them. Dont do them any favors until they agree to stop, or video them and let them see what pigs they are.
