liferyder has his ducks lined up good to what he's sayin. i own this particular bike, and i can tell u its a very strong runner out of the box, and is very reliable.
this bike that u are lookin at, from what u say, it already has the stage 1 and that will give it even more pep. the windshield and bags alone isnt cheap, and after the first 150 miles, u'll appreciate the windshield. the s/e pipes are just a little louder than stock, not much tho, and these pipes alone are almost 250 bucks give or take.

as far as how this bike rides, i can say for 100% certainty that in the twisties u'll love this bike. it has a very lightweight and nimble feeling, is rather forgiving, and will take what u throw at it up to the limits of the lean angle. i prefer running the shocks on the 2nd setting for the twisties; gives it a slightly stiffer ride, and i can slam this bike practically to the pegs in the corners with confidence. i would highly suggest u add (if the bike doesnt have it) add a sundowner seat. the stock seat sucks. i can ride 400 miles easy with my sundowner. grab this scoot, take it to the twisties, and enjoy.

Have it throughly checked by a certified H-D mechanic.
Is this a 1200C model? Are the bags and wind screen H-D or aftermarket? Does it have the forward control set-up? Is it just the Screaming Eagle mufflers or a Stage1? What is covered in the 'extended warranty' and what's the deductible?
13k on the clock is nothing for the new Sportys. I put over 12k on my FLHTPi in less then half of the first season, now have 28k and only replaced the rear tire once.
I am lead to believe you are working with a dealership on the situation mentioned here by the comment........'out the door' That being the case the $8,030 sounds about right. Out the means title transfer, plates and taxes.
Here in Michigan, that suggested resale value would be $8,230 plus title, tabs and taxes. That is a carburated scooter, add $400 if Fuel Injected.

I'm not sure you would need a CARFAX type service. It would be pretty hard to hide major damage repairs on a bike other than outright replacing parts. I would think if the title is clear and the numbers match all is good.
As far as the price I would say that it is fair if those are the options you wanted in the first place. If not you can get new 1200 models nicely loaded for around 10K.

Sounds like a decent price considering the extras. Check with the local dealer as to whether the bike has been serviced, they should have records on it. Ask the owner how many times he/she has replaced tires. Three sets in 13000 miles means hard riding.

Also, there are some deals on new bikes now that the supply is improving. Go look at new sportys before you sign on the line....

The price is too high. Should be selling for under 7k.
All the rest sounds good. You can take the bike to the harley shop and ask them to check it out and do a report on it. Alot of miles on it for an 05.

I've seen similar for sale in CO for around $6k or $7k. Let the owner know this or do your own research & see if they will come down on the price?
