I don't think they act like they won a grammy. Maybe they do when they win an actual award for best player or biggest scorer etc. Except maybe defenders because they score goals very rarely, sometimes even once in a year, so yeah it could be like winning a grammy in a way. But strikers usually don't overreact. But yeah, they are happy when they score a goal, especially in derbies, because those games and goals are remembered for a long time. Or if they score the only goal for their team and it gives them 3 points. In fact the whole team is happy, not just that one player.

Beacause they aren't retarded like NFL players and only celebrate after scoring, as opposed to juking for a minute after making a tackle at the end of a 25 yard run.
Soccer players realize that they accomplished something for their team by scoring a goal and therefore, celebrate enthusiastically
NFL players want everyone watching to know they did something so they celebrate after every play, for example: a running back breaks one for 25 yards and a first down, he jumps up and dances around, the DB who made the tackle then gets excited because even though his team just gave up a bunch of yards he is now on TV and he must celebrate the fact that he did what he was supposed to do, takle the guy, only he did it far too late, but a celebration insues with the other DB's who come over to give him a high 5.

Because it's not like Basketball in which one can score over 40 points. To score a goal in any game is such a big deal because one can go for days, weeks without scoring again...That's why they react the way they do. Also, next time you watch a Basketball game think how those player would react if they only scored one layup the whole game and the final score was 4 to 2. Wouldn't that be a big deal?

You can't compare scoring a goal to winning a grammy. A goal you accomplish on the field. A grammy, you have to impress a few votes. No comparinson. I take you are not the competitive type. Otherwise, you woldn't be asking this question.

Goals = extended contracts, endorsements, opportunities to represent your country on the national stage and respect from fellow players. I'm sure Beckham doesn't mind celebrating after he scores now that he'll be getting paid a quarter billion dollars for over half a decade of work - if you could call it work.
