Isaac Newton was probably the single greatest figure in the history of science.

Universal laws of motion and gravitation - around 1687.
Optics (the prism, the reflecting telescope) - around 1682
Binomial theorem and calculus - around 1690

He discovered that a prism could decompose white light into a spectrum of colours, and reflecting telescope when he was studying optics between 1670-1672.
He discovered gravity and stated the famous three universal laws of motion during his study in mechanics between 1679-1687.
He also made religious studies and placed the crucifixion of Jesus Christ at 3 April, AD 33, which is now the accepted traditional date.He attempted, unsuccessfully, to find hidden messages within the Bible
