it is discontinued..is a board game that folds into four squares instead of in half..the board is drawn like a lake with grid squares on it and black fish scattered throughout the squares..the playing pieces are different colored boats..you roll a dice and move that many squares trying to land on a fish..if you land on a fish you pick up a blue card..it will show what kind of fish you caught and the weight of it..other cards say stuff like 'bad storm, go to the nearest landing'..the edge of the board around the lake is woods with a couple roads and i think a bait shop or boat repair shop..maybe motel? i used to play it all the time when i was like 8 years old..(im 20 now)..im pretty sure it was called big fishin' but don't know..i've looked all around the internet (ebay, amazon, rare games) but can't find it..i'd really like to know what the name is and possibly where to find it..Thank you!

It sounds like the game you're describing is "Fishin' Time." You can read about it here:

It looks as though they're using traditional pawns, not boats, for the playing pieces. Otherwise, it looks like a pretty good match to your description, and with a 1986 release date, it's certainly in the right time frame.

If you register for boardgame geek, there are currently (2/9/07) 5 people looking to trade their copy of the game, maybe you could work out a deal.

Happy gaming and tight lines!

Well, I'm not entirely sure about trivia questions.. If you want trivia questions you could always try trivial pursuit, any of the editions, those are really fun, though usually when I try playing them myself I fail because they're way over my knowledge level. Another board game I'd highly recommend is Balderdash -- you make up your own definitions to words and hope that people guess the right answer (: Sorry though, I can't think of any trivia games.. but Mad Gab, Balderdash, Apples to Apples, Pictionary, and games such as that rock my world. Hope they rock yours too! (:
