I would take a hard and brutally honest look at my situation. If my spouse does not care about my well-being, but still has compassion and love for other things in life-i would have a frank talk with her about the direction of the marriage. Is there something not being accomplished to make it work? Am I doing something wrong? If the answer is that I'm not doing anything wrong and still i get treated this way, i might consider a trial separation.

Either way it will be difficult and heartbreaking. Even the worst relationships have bad break-ups. Be strong Jen, and know that this too shall pass.

I hear the saying, "A best man's friend is a dog", something like that. Anyway, if you think that your spouse cares for his dog than you, then there is something wrong with your relationship.

It also depends on the situation. If it life threatening for the dog, then he would take it to the vet. Was it life threatening for you?

Plus, why wait for your husband to take you to the doctor, why can't you just go on your own if he doesn't take you?

Sounds like home... but it's my two teenage girls that treat the dog better than me... I won't go into details... but I am fed up with it all... I tried to prove a point to them, but it just made things more crazy around here! I guess if it were the spouse problem I would just take myself to the doctor !

Get a cat. Seriously more details to give correct answer. At this pace I suggest you get him scheduled (spouse) to be euthanized. Hope the vet can help you.

He may have an unnatural fear of doctors. Ask him.

You should just go to the doctor yourself.
