Yugo, they were unreliable and gutless.
Another poorly made car is the early FWD Ford Escorts, they were notorious for its carberator problems back in the early 1980s.
The Dodge Aries/Plymouth Reliant were also poorly made cars and they were very well known for their head gasket problems on their 1981-84 models.

The front wheel drive X-body cars (Chevrolet Citation, Pontiac Phoenix, Oldsmobile Omega and Buick Skylark) are in my opinion the worst cars ever built, just about how many of them do you see nowadays? Hardly any, you used to see alot of them around 20 years ago, I thought the rear wheel drive X-body cars were alot better as far as reliability and the body styling guys.

The AMC Pacer, poorly built and ugly as sin. And to everyone that said the Edsel, you are wrong. The public back then did not like the car. Try to find one now and look at the prices for one, they are actually popular now.

The Chevrolet Corvair. One of the most dangerous cars in history. There was even a book about it, "Unsafe at Any Speed" Here's a wiki link on the book:

Worst cars in my opinion have been the Edsel, the Gremlin and the Corvairs...
I owned Corvairs and got nothing good out of them, the Edsel and Gremlin were just bad cars according to the public at large when they were still around...

Hyundai Excel - My sister bought one and I could run faster than that piece of crap! It was also poorly built.
Volkswagens - I owned two of them and they broke down all the time.
Also there was nothing wrong with the Edsel! People didn't like it because they thought it was ugly. I wish I could buy one.

Any American car (except the Mustang), the Leyland P76 (Aust), Datsun 180B (short for 180 things wrong with it) followed closely by the Datsun 200B (add another 20 errors to the 180B).
