I think it was her lack of believing in herself as a beautiful child of God, without the phony trappings. To the public, she was a caricature sex symbol. It is a travesty that some women feel that in order to be accepted, they have to play a part that appeals to the male world of sex. Some women are brought up to believe that the only power they have in this world is through a man, and the only way to get that power is through sex. Believe me, I know. I could have been Anna. I was a playboy bunny in the early eighties and was married to a Machevillian who only gave me any credit for my looks and submissiveness. It took me 13 years to say outloud that I am more than a claymation fantasy of the male world and got the hell out. I now am a very happy, successful and fullfilled Registered Nurse and no longer give a crap what any man thinks. I only wish that women would bring their daughters up to know that the power within them is their own and has nothing to do with men, sex, and big breasts. Intelligence is sexy and independence is very sexy. Women deserve men who worships the ground they walk on, who would never cheat, and an extra ten pounds doesn't matter in the bigger picture. I think poor Anna had alot of these demons and tried to erase them with booze, drugs, promescuity, and plastic surgery. She must have felt that this was the only way she would be accepted by her family and the world. SHAME on her pathetic mother and the others who have feasted on her before death and after! I also think she did not recover from the death of her son, probable the only person she felt that loved her for herself.

The last 5 years of Annas life were TRAGIC, and nothing short of tragic. She lost her 19 year old son, she was being sued for a paternity test on her daughter and she still had legal problems with the Marshall family.
Losing her son was the straw that broke the camels back I think, and I have strong suspicions that Anna committed suicide, just as her idol Marilyn Monroe had done so years before.
Anna may not have married J. Howard Marshall for the right reasons, but when he died he said that the last year of his life had been the happiest thanks to Anna.
Love is a strange thing it knows no bounds.

Well I thought just drugs, she has been so despondent since her son and she has a history of drug and alcohol abuse. She admitted herself to Betty Ford for being addicted to painkillers. After watching Nancy Grace tonight, I'm not so sure. She is convinced Howard did it. I do not remember a story being this incredible in a long time. I just feel so sorry for her, may she rest in peace now.

i truely believe that howard k stern is at the bottom of this sad sad event.....she led a very tragic life and i feel so sorry for her and her little baby girl.......i think that when they perform the paternity test on the baby, that larry birkhead will definately be named as the father....the baby looks just like him.......
