Light travels at 3 times 10 to the fifth km per second (approximately - actually 299,792,458 metres per second).

(1.5 times 10^8) / (3.0 x 10^5) = 0.5 x 10^3 = 500 seconds

or about 8.3 minutes.

I don't have the exact numbers, but its like 9 minutes from the sun to the earth for light to travel..

However the speed of light is 299 792 458 m / s

So just convert Meters per second to KM per second, do the math and it should come out around 9 minutes.

I suck at math so I'll leave that part up to you :)

BTW, its 1000 meters per Kilometer, so you would devide the figure I gave you above by 1000/

From what I've been told it's about 8 to 9 minuets.
