If you were starting a new society on a distant planet, who would you bring?

Oprah Winfrey, because there's a lady who knows how to get things done. I'd include some good, solid workers -- maybe 300 pioneers (of course I'd interview to weed out the dreamers, drinkers and gunslingers). Dr. Andrew Weil and about a dozen people he'd recommend as good medical workers. Sarah Susanska, the architect, and a dozen workers and designers that *she'd* recommend. And about a dozen entertainers; people who can make others forget their troubles and all the hardships. (-: I'm not sure who -- I'd have to hold auditions. And of course, space guys. Oh, and Michael Pollan plus his staff of horticulturists.

I would bring two of every animal so they can live the way nature intended and live in peace from man before theres none left.
Aside from that I would bring only people that could live in peace and harmony with nature and others. Diversity stays boredom so people who can accept peoples differences and let them be.

Man! to start off, the main thing, instead of "calling" anybody, i'd choose people of today with a real screening test such that i choose the ones who are tolerant, good, compassionate, scientific, rational and intelligent (Yeah! all in one) so that not many problems plague the new place!

Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Bono, Brad Pitt and Angeline Jolie (beautiful children in a new society would be a plus), Albert Einstein and Princess Diana.

Bill Clinton- as a rogue scholar, between his brains and Bill Gates, they would be able to set up a suitable government that would practically run itself without impoverishing the newly transported people and they also are genius enough to be able to set in motion a suitable government and mainstay of an environment.

Albert Einstein- because he DESERVES TO SEE HIS DREAMS COME TRUE- and any insights he helps with the new society would just be icing on the cake so to speak.

Bono, Oprah and Princess Diana because of their overly zealous giving of themselves and their monies to those in need--they would be considered role models in the new society-- one of which I hope would be without any monetary system--based solely on doing good deeds for others and getting blessed with karma in return. Brad Pitt and Angelina also fall into that category but they also could procreate a wonderful new generation of beautiful, intelligent children but - with Einstein, we could probably procreate beings that would be the perfect species- immune to illness and disease, intelligent in design, loving,caring and forgiving as role models for their children, and most of all, "paying it forward" as the motto of the new society--- no more plastic society, needless spending, there would be NO money..... a futuristic society based solely on one another taking care of eachother............sounds like heaven to me............
