When my son's diaper has been become soiled with urine, the scent is sooo strong. Is this common with every diaper or just Huggies? Does anyone else have this problem with Huggies?

this usually occurs after a night of baby sleeping; not every diaper change. i do change my baby's diaper frequently. i rarely let him sit it in unless i'm in a situation where i can't change his diaper at the time.

got 2 words for you... PAMPERS CRUISERS....
i used huggies on my lil boy and smelled urine all the time just about, not only at night. but, what the worse thing was, was all the little jell balls. every change there was jell balls all over him and his doc actually told me that those jell balls can cause infection or cause the lil pee pee hole to close up.
if i have any more, it'll probley b "pampers" all the way.

I've used Huggies ever since my son out grew the Pampers swaddlers (those were my favorite) and I've not had a problem. However, the previous answer about the "jell balls causing the pee whole to close up" is freaking me out a bit. My very opinionated pediatrician never mentioned this, but I am gonna give him a call! Don't all diapers now (except for cloth) use the gel to hold the pee in?

I also had this problem, when i would use huggies, doing the quick smell test to see if my baby had soiled himself wasn't hard at all. I have went to a really cheap brand of diapers called white cloud, they work great, smell okay and are very inexpensive.

I too noticed this at first I thought it was my daughter, but, one day I used a different brand of diaper and noticed it was gone. I didn't think much of it until I bought Huggies again and it ( smell ) was back. I quit using Huggies, and now the smell is gone...So nope your not the only one, and thank god I am not crazy...LOL

I get that with the night time nappy because it does get so full. But huggies are the only ones I have found that are not perfumed. My son has sensitive skin so perfumed nappies are not an option. That is why you get the smell with huggies and not with others. If you son can wear perfumed nappies then change brands. If not you can get scented nappy bags to dispose of the smelly night time nappy.

I smelled the same thing with my daughter. I used huggies for about 2 days the urine smell was really bad and she ended up with diper rash. I switched to pamper's swaddlers and its WAY better. She hasn't had a diper rash since and no more urine smell...as the lady said above thank god im the the only one who noticed this LOL

the only time the diaper has a strong smell of pee is when it is really full, like after a night of baby sleeping. this occurs with both huggies and pampers and i use both. if you see that the pee always has a strong smell and the colour is a dark yellow, like tea, check if your baby is getting dyhadreated.

I used disposable for few months when my son was born and tried many different brands. They all smelled terrible. I use cloth diapers now and am thrilled they don't stink like disposable. I still use disposable once in a while when on the road. They ones that smell least are usually the off brands.
