Nothing is secure in this world. Even sitting at home is secure? An earthquake, a Tsunami or a hurricane can shake anything. Don,t need to worry, take it up. Many pilots are having retired life after their successful carrier. Many schoolchildren are killed in riots, bus accidents, school building collapse, or any other way. What is secure or what is not?

it is a good profession, they is a fairly good demand, and the pay is generous, the facilities are liberal and u meet lot of good people and sexy airhostesses.
There is a aviation boom in India, China and south asia pacific in general. Lot of expatriate pilot from all over the world are flying airplanes in this region, working for regional airlines.
However the training may be a bit expensive, and the medicals may be hard, but in the long term it is worthit.

My opinion is that is that its a good career, however before you get any further you should get your eyes checked to make sure that your vision is good enough, and that you don't have any colour blindness. These would both prevent you from following this career.

Salary scope: Commercial pilots get attractive remuneration and incentives, such as getting free/concessional tickets for the family. Once confirmed with the necessary endorsement, commercial pilots are paid handsomely. Entry-level pilots can earn up to Rs 1.5 lakh per month with domestic airlines and even higher on international routes. Senior pilots can earn in the vicinity of Rs 5 lakh upwards per month.

Pilots are also entitled to a range of benefits and allowances in addition to housing, medical and out-station allowances, as well as free/concessional air passages for their immediate family and dependents.
