A truly intelligent person is usually painfully aware of how much they don't know.

Intelligence shows up in many forms. In addition to what's already been stated, I believe musical talent is a form of intellignce. Art is a form of intelligence. Its not just about technical stuff. Why do you think most great artists or composers were also called genius? Because without speaking aword, anyone can recognise the intelligence or the composer or artist.

Sometimes intelligence exists in ways that have not yet found an expression. It is possible to have vast intelligence and go unnoticed. Take Einstein for example. They say he flunked a course in math while in school. But later on he found that expression to his genius.

The definition of intelligence is the ability to communicate. Therefore he would be defined by his speech, words and delivery. Are his words clear and concise, is he easy to understand? Then I would say he was intelligent. Does he speak "over your head," where you can't understand what he's saying? Then I doubt he's that smart, after all, you didn't understand a word he said. In other words, I (the intelligent person) knows the technical jargon, that doesn't mean that I have to expose someone to it that doesn't know it. That's not a good form of communication. Speaking clearly and concisely about things that are obvious makes more sense.

I would say...

An intelligent mind questions everything. Therefore, their mind is always actively processing something.

Apparently doing this and learning a few more languages keeps us from losing our memory.
