I think they are trying to persuade the younger generation to look up to Miley Cyrus and Hilary Duff as their role model instead of people like Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan. Because television and music can't always be restricted to adults, kids and preteens also need their own celebrities. I know some people who practically worship Ashley Tisdale or Vanessa Anne Hudgens just from their role in High School Musical. Just like there are movies for the more mature, there are made-for-kids movies and family movies for everyone. That's just the way media is.
Personally, I prefer Hilary to Hannah because I feel that Hannah Montana's image is wrong to people that if you are famous everyone wants to be your friend and gives them the wrong idea that being a famous singer undercover is really cool. They are influenced to become a celebrity as their ambition, even though they might not have the talent. Hilary Duff can sing better and her show Lizzie McGuire was way better than Hannah Montana in the content.

They appeal to younger audiences with that kid friendly look and sound. That is why they do so well with 8 year olds that bug the crap out of their parents to buy CDs from those type of artists.

Hate 'em. They are so typical. They all look prety much the same, too, with all that caked on make-up, like they were little kiddos playing with mommy's make-up.

Got a lucky *** brake. Bet they can't sing worth a sheat. never heard them live, but u hear them on tv, their voices are "eclectronicaly enchanced" so ya... lol
