He was president for eight years and during his presidency there was peace and prosperity. However, his vice president was defeated in a disputed election and felt that he was robbed. He was charistmatic and well liked and most likely would have won a third term, unlike his vice president, who made many mistakes in the campaign. You could go on and on and nobody could figure out, whether you were talking about Ike or Bill.

I would vote for Eisenhower because when he gave his farewell address as president, he warned the American people about the "military industrial complex". He warned us about the power the military could have and what affects it could have on the industry of the country. The Korean War died down in 1953, during his administration. The Chinese & Korean communists were afraid of him. We were in a mild recession because we were still in a transition between a wartime and peacetime economy. He had impeccible leadership qualities and his character was unquestionably honest. (Except he had an affair with Lucy Rutherford, his secretary, during WWII).He was commander of allied D-Day forces & commander of NATO. He also was well-balanced as he also said that Gen. MacArthur had overstepped his rank in defiance of Harry Truman. Israel became involved in a war with the Arabs, particularly Egypt in 1956 when Egypt tried to block the Suez Canal (Nasser). The American people and our allies also trusted him. On the negative side, he had two major heart attacks, chose Nixon as his running mate (he was reluctant to endorse him in 1960 vs Kennedy), & sent advisors to Vietnam at the request of the French government who was fighting Ho Chi Minh. A U2 spy plane was shot down over the Soviet Union which caused some friction, also the 1956 eastern European uprising occured and crushed by Soviet tanks. We did nothing to stop it. Also, atmospheric nuclear testing was begun by the Soviets, US, France & Britain, & Castro became leader in Cuba in 1959, & the Soviets beat us into space by launching the Sputnik satellite. The world was very volatile back then, and it was the start of the Cold War. But, Ike was still popular when he left office.

I know you're not talking about traitor clinton. I'd vote for Eisenhower right now before bill even though Ike is dead. Ike is still 10,000 times better than bastard clinton!

If all that matters to you and some other Americans is prosperity for Americans, then this is an opportunity to ask the following question once more: Who appointed you as policemen of the world? Who do you think you are? What makes you "better then others"?
