It could be a yeast infection or a bacterial infection. It is best that you are going to see your doctor. Remember one thing, you may be monogamous, doesn't always mean the other person is. Try using cold compresses or sit in a cool tub to help with the discomfort and swelling. I hope everything is fine and it is nothing serious.

Sounds like you have thrush. This is not a dirty thing, it is just something that happens. You need to go and buy an antifungal cream from the pharmacy and cleanse and dry your private parts carefully prior to applying the cream. Just dab it dry with a towel, then apply the cream.
Let your private parts air over night, this means do not wear any underwears. During the day, and after your morning shower...dab the area dry and apply the cream, wear cotton underwear only and a loose skirt or loose pants. This keeps the area "aired" and cool and less likely to let the thrush thrive anylonger.
The antifungal creams need to be applied for a two week period at minimum..this makes sure the thrush bug has been killed off.
Also, eating yoghurt with cultures (acidophilus or bifidus or both) in it restores the flora that is natural to our body and protects you from a reoccurence of the thrush.
Stick to this regime and you will be fine, it is an awful thing but you will get through it!!!!
Most of all, keep your hands away from the area..don't scratch it, coz it will get under your fingernails and then you will re infect the area.

I have not had this problem, but I hope you've gotten medical help. It may be an STD....or some sort of infection from lack of cleanliness *NOT TO SAY* that you don't take care of yourself. Idk...problems down there are tricky...and it always seems so taboo to talk about. Now and then I think most women get itchy or experiense something strange. Perhaps you have a yeast infection.

first i don't think it is an std, as there are usually no symptoms. has happened to me before and it turned out to be a urinary tract infection. it could also be the beginning of a yeast infection, there is usually a white discharge but in the beginning stages you don't always see the discharge. you can buy monistat over the counter and try that. if it helps, it is a yeast infection. still see your dr. for check up though

i am assuming that you have some kind of infection "down there," either yeast or bacterial infection. the major symptoms for both infections are itchiness, foul smell with some discharge, and burning sensation during urination.
the swelling of your labia majora (outer lip) and the radish color are probably caused by you scratching "down there" too much. if you can, try not to scratch it too much to damage your skin "down there."
if you like, you can google on vaginal infection, particularly yeast and bacterial infection. you won't be able to know which one you actually have until your doctor checks it. don't worry too much, every women will at least get one of these infection once in their life time.

sounds like thrush to me. get some caniston. or canesoral. one is a cream u put down there and it treats the thrush, the other is a tablet to treat it. u can actually get one now, the treatment is a tablet, and the relief comes from a cream.

it might be thrush which can be treated with over the counter medicines, provided you see your doctor first as you may need a prescription. i've had thrush before and i felt itchness, burning when urinating, dryness, irriation. i suggest you see a doctor.

Have you started using a new soap, toilet paper or laundry detergent? It could be that an ingredient in it is causing an allergic reaction.
