mm good question- It sounds like you're engaged in a positively supported relationship with a caring individual. As long as you're comfortable with committing to safe sex, I think you're off to a great start of a honest, respectable union...not everyone can say the same thing. :) good luck

If you like him, then what's in question? As long as you stay safe, then you'll be okay. If it's true love and you love him, then don't let your friends prejudice get in the way. People with HIV deserve love, too. You're not making a huge mistake, you're making a smart decision. Stay safe, though, I bet the last thing that your guy would want is if you caught it from him. Good luck. I wish I could find love like you did, where you'd stay with the person no matter what their flaws...=P

I think you are doing the right thing if you're really interested in him. Just make sure you are protecting yourself by having safe protected sex and u shouldn't have to worry too much bout getting HIV. If you haven't had sex with him Don't RUSH into this step if u r not sure of what u want to do yet ! If he really likes u and understands u he will b patient and wait until you r ready. Good Luck!

Well first of all I think it's time to educate your friends about HIV !
If you and this guy are enjoying each others company and
interests Good for you both ! You say he knows your worries and respects them that's great too , just be sure to always practice safe sex , get yourself checked regularly as well , and enjoy your lives together... I wish you both the best.

No amount of love or respect for someone should come before common sense. Common sense is something we begin to learn as children and in many cases prepares us for dealing with situations such as yours above. You can do better, you can get someone whom you love and whom is HIV negative. He deserves to be with someone who shares in his medical status. He can visit some websites that help HIV and other STD positive people find mates. Please don't make this mistake. HIV is a painful, terrifying disease. I know this through my studies in college while I'm preparing to become a nurse.

Your friends are just worried about you......you are seeing someone with a deadly disease....I think if you were in your friends shoes you might react the same way.
However, if you like this person then definately keep him in your life and be safe.
