When I was young, I used to play with this spring thing.
It looks like a spring but it doesn't pop up actually.
However, it's kind of "walking".
If you snap the end of this spring down the stairs,
it moves down as if it is actually walking.
I'd call it a "walking spring". That could be possible, I guess.
But, I wonder if it has any other name.
I'm from Asia, so I don't know what it's called in the U.S.
In my country, it was called a Magic Spring. =)
What do you guys call this? Do you have this kind of spring, too?

it's called a "Slinky".---"It walks downstairs, alone or in pairs, and makes a slinkity sound...." That was part of the commercial jingle that went with it when I was growing up....

Slinky
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Its called a 'SLINKY' and i think most american children had/have them. The great ones are made of metal and really can walk down the stairs ( i actually have one in my bedroom and have tried), but they make plastic ones that vary in sizes but can't go down the stairs and they kinda suck

Its called a slinky. I used to have one. I always liked the regular silver one. I didnt like it when they started making the plastic ones. its seems as if they were harder to work with.
