Okay, my husband has a friend from work. He's young, about 19 I think and his girlfriend is 20. They were having sex quite a bit (you know how guys talk) but now he has decided he wants to wait for marriage before they have sex anymore. They say they will get married some day, but haven't really set a date for it. I know she would like to continue having sex, but maybe she respects his decision. It just seems really backwards to me. Do you think their relationship can survive something like that? To me it seems like giving a baby a taste of candy and then taking it away.

Sounds to me that he's testing her before marriage.

If she really is the one, then she would respect him and not cheat.

Marriage and serious relationships should not be sex-driven.

da fact dat he's so young make da relationship kinda vulnerable.. coz if they oreadi had sex and suddenly it stopped, but it is actually a one-sided decision, its rather unfair to the girl.. that's when all forms of paranoia and assumptions wil come along.. but, due to the fact, dat dey are thinking about getting married (which i hope they're really seriously considering it), then maybe its good way to test their relationship and their lust control.. maybe they shud talk bout it and be open wit their comments bout it...

it's possible. either personal or religion reasons.

sex is necessary but shouldn't be the basis for any relationship.
perhaps he doesn't want to have the sudden 'baby' problem happening anytime soon.

or it could be a test to see how much she loves him.
if she loves him, she'll respect his decision and not force him or cheat on him.
