I like the music but its a shame that society has labeled it as music for gay people. I am not gay and I don't like people to make assumptions based on the music I listen to.

Well, it's played at the gay clubs a lot. Don't be insecure. Lots of straight guys do listen, and make the music, too. My brother's one of them. And not all gay guys like techno, either.

Is it? It's not associated as 'gay music' in Europe... in fact quite the opposite.

'Gay music' here would come under the brackets of cheese (Steps, S Club, Spice Girls), schlager (almost anything coming out of Sweden), ethnopop (Helena Paparizou, Despina Vandi), eurovision (www.esctoday.com) or anything written by Tommy G:son (far too much).

That doesn't mean that straight people don't like / listen to these kinds of music, just that it's more heard in gay clubs.

Gay people are the backbone of the entertainment industry, just deal w/ it. You need to be more secure w/ your own sexuality so you wont even care if people thought otherwise....
