I can hardly play any chords as my finger tips are too mushy (I don't have fat fingers but they still rub on the next string). Is there any way to harden them up fast?

Hmmm.... yes and no.

If you put just a touch (just a touch now... don't overdo it!) of superglue on the tips of your fingers, when the glue dries you will have hard little pads that will act as psuedo calluses.

BUT, if you really want to become a guitarist, you have to wail away until your fingertips get bright pink. Keep this up for about a week, play through some pain, and you will begin noticiting the skin drying out and flaking off a bit. After a while, the top few layers will becomed calloused and you will have rock-star calluses!

Good luck man....

not that I know of....if you keep playing you will eventually develop calluses, which doesn't take to long of a time.....
