If you are working or planing to go to work for a company and they need you to be bond able then no they will not hire you because the company supplying the bond will not cover you as a felony but by law after 5 years they can not hold it against you because background checks cannot go back past 5 years exceptions do apply sexual offenders mud er etc the violent crimes but as a business owner who has to have bond able employees I could not hire you for 5 years because my background checks stop there for those who have been honest with me in the same situation as you and they couldn't remember if it had been quite long enough I tell them all to tell me the truth and we will see because if it hasn't been and i see it right in front of me I won't even consider them in a couple of months when it is cleared because they have lied to me but if they have been honest and i truly believe in them i will be sure to give them the opportunity as soon as the background check comes clear enough to be able to force my bonding company to allow me to hire them

Whether you have a chance of getting a good job depends largely on your skills and the demand for your skills.

Many companies have a policy against hiring felons; for most large companies, this is not going to be negotiable as you will be dealing with someone very far down on the totem pole from the person who makes policy decisions. Elsewhere, it's possible that it might be more of a guideline.

It's my opinion that it's 50/50 at getting a good job, for the reason that most business's will not hire ex-felons even if they have changed for the better. Don't let it get you down, you keep your head held high and keep looking, I'm confident you'll find a good job!

It is a choice they can make. However, you will be banned from ever working in a care-taking career such as a nurse, in schools, or in law enforcement. Those fields have no-tolerance for felonies.

Check with your local public defenders. Sometimes they have a list of "felony friendly" employers.

Cleansing your records is a good sign that you can be hired for a job. Prove that you are already good and strive to be diligent in your job.
