that people who identify as bisexual are sometimes put down by the gay/lesbian groups? I have heard it said that someone who is bisexual is just denying their true sexuality. Why is that?

there are plenty of ridiculous myths about bisexuality like the one you described. some gays and lesbians suffer from them just as much as some straight people do, like thinking they will "turn straight" or that they are just afraid to call themselves completely gay. none of these are true. i am bisexual and i am not the least bit confused. hot people are hot; i don't care what gender they are!

I think it's because people are scared of rejection. I myself would be a little nervous to get involved with a person who is bisexual, because I would always be convinced she would leave me for a guy. I wouldn't not get involved with someone who is bi because of this, and I know not all bi people leave their same sex partner for a heterosexual relationship, I just know I'd be worried. I believe that people are and can be bi though, I don't doubt that. My guess is a lot of the negative feelings towards the bisexual community stems from the same fear I have. Just so everyone knows, I myself an not trying to say anything negative about people who are bisexual, it's my own insecurity I'm talking about.

I usually just ignore it.
I know I'm bi, I know that I'm not into fads, I'm completely secure about my sexuality, I'm not greedy or indecisive at all.
I'm a serial monogamist.
I have happily been with my soul mate for over ten years. But it does not mean that if anything should happy to us as a couple that I wouldn't be attracted to someone of the opposite gender or of the same gender.
I have no disphoria about my own gender, I'm happily 100% all natural, female.

I've heard it to. I think it's because a lot of gay and lesbian people use it as a way of easing it into their minds that they are attracted solely to the same sex...It somehow makes the transition easier...so that they think that this applies to everyone.

cool~! i agree with scruffy totally!
hot people are hot and i wont care abt their gender!

i guess bisexual are being put down by the gay/les grps simply becos they are afraid that their partner (bi) would leave them and get married with the opposite gender. Maybe...thats what i guess...
