i want to scan my computer withoutinstalling any antivirus in it . may be from a cd or something , installing the antivirus makes it too slow . is there some tool or any live antivirus that will help me do this ?

Kaspersky offers an online scan that doesn't "install" anything on your computer.

the concept is not correct. cozz when u go online u pickup trojans, spywares . theres a reason why every1 keeps the real time protection of the antivirus on. well its not a smart move to compromise the security for ur primitive idea abt it making ur pc slow. for example nod32 or f-secure wont make pc slow and for free avg is an excellent antivirus. i would recommend doing disk clean up and defragmentation once a week

Just do a search on the internet for Online Virus Scan. It wont installed anything.

You can also get a "portable" version of antivirus. that is that it does not need to be installed. A lotof programs are coming out now designed to be run from a usb flash drive.

i don't knw abt online scanning ,but u can try for avira antivirus ,the size is of 13 mb ,u can download free from the net,it will not use memory as other antivirus,it will scan perfectly....
if it doesn't works go for online......

Go to http://www.avast.com and you can do a Scan on their Homepage. I WOUILD NOT RUN MY COMPUTER W/O a Virus protector. You are just asking for trouble. DOWNLOAD AVAST as it WILL NOT effect your computer and *slow it down* as you put it. You need to do this ASAP if you are Un-Protected. Any more help you need let me know. Get the offline installer of those AVs. Run one after the other. of direction you would be wanting internet connection even after one in each and every of them have been put in for they could get carry of updates.

You can use Arca OnlineScan using IE only because of its ActiveX controls. You just follow instructions on the screen. You can also use trendmicro housecall using IE or firefox but it needs any Java plug-in.
