Lost all my contacts I have verizon how do i get them back?

Hi I have verizon and I lost all my contacts when my phone broke my aunt said that there was a way to get my contacts back but didnt go into detail Can someone shed some light on this issue? and for those wondering 42 is the meaning of life the universe and everything...

Also , you should try going to Verizon or a repair phone store, they may be able to retrieve your contacts.

If you can still turn the thing on (even if the screen doesn't light up), then you can use a program called SnapSync (made by a company called FutureDial, you can usually buy the package with a cable for your phone for about $30) and pull the contacts onto your PC desktop, where you can then transfer them to your new phone, or else type them in manually.
