My dad and I are both musical people, and these are some songs that we thought were challenging and/or really good to listen to. Some of these are also good because they are old favorites, or people know them, or some just because they are different. (If you want a slow song, go for either one of the two by The Eagles or "Alone" by Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains. If you want a fast song, go for something by System of a Down. The guitar in there is always impressive. "Chop Suey" has a nice transition in it, and so do "Hypnotize" and "Question!" Good luck! :-)

My suspicion is that they will play a standard I, IV and V song and let you take a lead for a couple of verses. If you sing, then after your guitar leads then start singing the song unless youre just jamming. In that case, start making up words.
After that, ask them to play along with you. Youre auditioning them as well. Pick a song that should be easy for everyone. How bout When I Get Around?
When you do all of that, youll have a good idea if there is a "fit" between you and the rest of the band. If the school band doesnt work out, start looking for other players and start your own band and ROCK ON!

you are auditioning for a place in the SCHOOL rock band. Pick a song that includes a variety of playing techniques and implement some of your special moves with it. The judges want to see and hear what you can do. Do not pick a song that has rude, raunchy or derogatory lyrics in it; you are trying to IMPRESS the judges, not offend them. Save the 'bad' stuff for when your group is just havin a good time off school property. Good luck with your audition.

Singing is something that everybody can learn and improve. Of course, some are more naturally skilled than others, but even a poor voice can be overcome by dedication, practice, and more practice. Even if you're content to sing in the shower, there are some things you can do to improve your voice. This is probably the best online course to improve your singing skills https://tr.im/jaSVf
Your golden voice will be ringing out in no time!
