I Can't Hear Through My Right Ear.?

i havent for 4 hours now. i feel like a tard cuz i shot an airsoft gun (empty) into my ear. its got a sort of ringing noise and it feels like im wearing earbuds on the ear. anyway, how long duz this usually last? im kinda hoping its not permanent

I'm glad that you acknowledge your dumb mistake, because you may have done some significant damage.

First of all, the sudden pressure change could have ruptured your eardrum; but since you don't mention pain or bleeding, it's possible that you got lucky. Pressure changes can even result in ruptures of the membranes between the middle and inner ear, which can lead to severe dizziness and can require surgery to repair (not always successfully, either).

The ringing and muffled hearing will last a day or two and most likely will go away completely - but there is a chance that they might not fully resolve. There is no way to predict it.

Even if you feel completely "normal" in a few days, there is likely some permanent damage to the microscopic hair cells that move to the sound vibrations and trigger the nerve - so in a few more decades it you have a hearing test and your one ear comes out worse than the other, you will think back to this day.

It is called temporary threshold shift. The bones in the ear drum separate apart in order to avoid damage. If normal hearing does not return after a good nights rest, visit a doctor, but I don't think there is much they can do for you if you have destroyed your ear drum.

ummmmm..... don't know, if you unable to hear by tomorrow, go see the doctor, because the AIR of the Airsoft gun probably did some damage to your ear drums or something.
