He continues to face court and continues to get fines serving time wont help him it just introduces him to fellow dealers and users, my mother has written to the judge requesting rehab or help with his violent behaviour the law does not seem to listen and continues to slap him on the wrist, I fear he will hurt himself or someone else if he does not get the help he needs is there a missing link in the system our family have tried all kinds of avenues to help him but we have run out of faith and resources.

I am sorry that your family and your brother are going through this. It is unfortunate, whatever happened to him to enhance such behavior. The best thing I could suggest is that if he is locked up behind bars somewhere, try to find a counselor or someone knowledgable that can visit in him there and talk to him.

There is an underlying problem here that has nothing to do with the drugs - he started doing that for a reason... and once someone breaks through that wall he can get the help he needs. The law does not care what is behind that wall - it's up to your family to get the help to him :-(, and I wish you luck.

That is a hard one for you guys to deal with. I can only guess why this is going on because I don't know all the history on it. This could be just one of the reasons for the lack of help. Your brother can only be helped when he wants to be. Until that time comes there isn't much you can do that will help. I know because I have family that were in the same spot as you are.
May your higher power be with you.

Ugh, That's ridiculous, They should just give your brother the help he needs. Just try and stay positive, And hope that when the time comes when the stupid court system will grant him what he needs, That he'll stay safe. Good luck!

if he is under 18 you can call children's services
1/800/4ACHILD
TALK TO THEM AT THAT NUMBER-- they will have ideas.

you can take him to mental hospital or police for 48 hour lock up and observation, say he's a threat to himself and others.

good luck!

call alcoholics anon. look in your phone book
call al-anon look in your phone book or call information
Al-anon or Al-ateen can give you guidance and help you deal with this emotional situation.

i know it's scarey!!
but he has to want help.

If he is violent, take him to mental health, and have him observed and see if they can medicate him, maybe he's bi-polor!

blessings
